Stretched Yarn  

Years ago when I lived in Seattle, the yarn shop I frequented was owned by a man who gave good advice on anything one might want to know.  I was making a skirt with an extremely bulky yarn that was very heavy and stretched in length, I asked him how I could prevent the weight from making the skirt stretch.  He told me to get a fine thread (even sewing thread
could be used) that matched the yarn as close as possible and carry it along with the yarn and that would stabilize the stretching of the yarn.  I did so
and was able to wear the skirt many years and it never stretched out of shape. Thanks for all the good information. Joyce S
